Back to School or Stay Home?

These are some of my homeschooling buddies. We wanted to get a picture of the kids with their teacher (aka mom) in one of them, but she forgot her denim overalls!! ;) So her shorts will have to do.

I love their matching smiles.

I had a ton of great pictures of these little pigtails. It took me longer to pick which ones to edit than it did to actually edit them.

 Konnor is one of my boys favorite friends. Never a dull moment with him.

Back to School Mini's Showers

After having decided that this one was a rainout, we were packing up my props and the rain lightened up. We decided to go ahead a try. Yah! It worked! The rain stopped just long enough for us to get a few pictures of these adorable siblings.  

Thanks for waiting out the rain with us! So glad I was able to catch your contagious smiles.

First of the Back to School Mini's

We almost got rained out for a 2nd time on this back to school mini sessions. Weather.com only gave me 10%, but boy, were they wrong. But we were able to get through them in between small burst of rain. Can't complain about the rain, though. This was my first batch of back-to-schooler.

You'd think I get tired of doing this shot, but nope, I still love it. 

A mermaid.....lol. I love her bare feet! So cute!

These boys were the sweetest, most well-mannered pre-teens. I hope I do as good of a job with my boys. 

Back to School - Mini Sessions - RESHOOT

I can't believe it, but it's that time of year again. School is starting, the other morning it actually felt a bit like fall, and Hobby Lobby has Christmas decorations out (ok, so they do that in July - still surprises me every year)!! Pretty soon it'll be picture day at school, but wouldn't it be nice to have some non-traditional pictures with fun props that actually catch your child's personality? I'll provide the props, you provide the smiling faces.

My oldest is about to turn seven, so I took him out to capture his changing smile as he's entering his first grade year.

 He had fun trying to balance this book on his head. I think it's his favorite picture.

It was his idea to write his name using 2 colors.

Hogeda Family

I took this family's pictures outside a beautiful church that's downtown. I absolutely love the architecture here. Their new pet kitty joined in for some family photos.

 This sweetheart really gave me some beautiful smiles. So photogenic.

 Her little brother cracked me up. He made me work for his smiles. Luckily, I'm very experienced when it comes to little boys.

 The kids had fun with these upside down pictures. I got the best smiles out of lil' brother in them.

Lockett Sisters

After doing a couple shoots with toddlers and babies, this one seemed SO EASY.  Perfect smiles everytime and I didn't have to chase anyone.

Scratch that. A little running when we had to grab our bench and run out of the middle of the road when mom came driving back. Don't worry. No one was hurt in the making of these pictures.

They brought this cute prop with them. I love it when people bring props.

 Such gorgeous sweet girls!

  I'm into old books right now. I finally went to Good Will and bought me a stack of hardback children's books for a couple dollars. I'm sure the kids have a stack on their shelves, too. Next time, I think I'll bring a bunch more.

Lit'l Red

9 months. I love this age. They start getting their personalities, but are still cuddly and adore their mommas. And a red-headed baby girl with these beautiful blues and a yellow rosette in her hair? Love it!

 We've been good friends with this family for years, and when they came to visit after having moved over a year ago, I had to get some pictures.

Watch out! He's a bit cheeky. Oh, do I miss this family!

 Her cousin, who is almost the same age, came along for a couple pictures of them together. 

We noticed that baby Kirsten matched my baby, Jack's nursery. That's his quilt he let her borrow. 

 I did mostly pictures of the baby because it was her first photo shoot. She was a perfect little model, as long as I kept up with her.
